Back to the grindstone

Hopefully everyone enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. We traveled north for the holiday and visited with Ron and Carol for a few days. We enjoyed a small Thanksgiving dinner with Ron & Carol, plus Mike's brother Marty and his friend Marsha . It was a great meal, but most of us definitely overindulged. Fortunately, I've dropped those extra holiday pounds already ;o)

We returned early as Mike had to get ready for a 6:45 a.m. flight on Monday out of Detroit and he was driving up to his apartment on Sunday afternoon. Once we arrived home and had everything unpacked, the kids and I started decorating for Christmas. As of Sunday afternoon, I think we managed to get everything up (and we only broke two ornaments in the process). I'm still putting away storage containers and cleaning up, but the decorations are up and I love it.

Once Mike left for Michigan, we went to visit Shari, Rich and the girls. Rich was busy cooking meals for the week (which our little chef Mr. B offered to help out with) and the girls immediately started playing, so Shari and I snuck away for a visit to their new home. It was gorgeous...the only bad part is that they will be living farther away from us now.

It was definitely hard to go back to work after being off for 5 days...the day seemed to drag on. However, Miss Monkey brightened my day when I picked her up. She was sporting the cutest little elf hat that she made at Carol's. We were able to enjoy some quality time together, as Mr. B went to a friend's house after school.
