And the winner is...

It's been more than a month since my Daddy and I entered into our weight loss challenge. And for those of you who are curious as to the results, let's just say that my Daddy kicked my a$$ (beating me by 4 pounds).

BUT...

The competition is continuing, as we both continue to strive towards our respective weight goals. (sorry there are no photos of pie in the face yet ;o)

I am officially down 6 pounds and have lost a total of 9.25 inches (from my bust, waist, hips, thighs and arms). And I'm proud.

Proud that I am able to fit back into my clothes (and I don't have to go out and buy a new wardrobe...while that might be fun...I love shopping afterall, it's NOT in our budget).

Proud that my husband has noticed the changes. And likes them ;o)

Proud that my son announced that he didn't know why I was even doing challenge: "I thought you looked good in the first place." (Be still my heart young man...you totally made my heart melt without even trying)

Proud that I have stuck with my healthy lifestyle focus for more than a month and that I want to keep doing it.

And perhaps most importantly, proud that I am setting a positive example for my children.

I'm embarrassed to admit that the months that I let myself go, I was modeling those poor habits with my children.

This past month has helped reshape my focus on not only myself, but on my children. I don't want them to stumble down the path of "unhealthiness." I want them to understand that they make choices each day as to what they put in their body and how they take care of themselves. And those choices affect how they look and feel.

I don't want them to ever feel bad about themselves or face criticism from their peers. So I am continuing on with our healthy lifestyle...for the sake of my children and for myself.

WTG...even though you didn't win, that's still awesome...and it's much more important that it's been a lifestyle change.
