Let the decorating begin

My favorite post-Thanksgiving event is not shopping on Black Friday (I don't relish getting up at the wee hours of the morning or fighting mobs of people), but rather decorating for Christmas. I Love. Love. Love. Holiday decorations. It makes my heart smile.

I've already adorned the foyer with our nine-foot tree. It's my "showcase tree"...one that I decorate with our "fancy ornaments', as Miss Monkey likes to call them. I always love putting up the ornaments that we had handpainted with our names at Bronners. And I love adding new ornaments to my collection each year, like the beautiful mushroom from DOMitp.com.

Our family room boasts the most decor (my husband often jokes it's like Christmas has exploded). Don't you love the ornaments I hung over the mantel (using fishing wire and white thumbtacks).

And of course, my holiday decor wouldn't be complete without decorations lovingly made by my children.

It's December now, so I feel no guilt in wishing everyone a Merry Christmas...and happy decorating!
