I'm taking full ownership...I have been a bad, bad Aunt these past months.
Blaming a hectic family life, is just a lame excuse. I need to make more of an effort. Spend more time and be more involved in the lives of my seven nieces and nephews.
This weekend, I took the first steps in remedying the situation.
I snuggled with my newborn niece:
Doted over my one-year-old niece (who had someone learned to walk AND talk since I last saw her two months ago, *sigh*)
Played on the swing set with the girls and staged an impromptu photo session:
And marveled at the boundless energy of my tomboy niece, Mia (that "boo-boo" on her head is from a skate boarding accident, which she explained as "no biggie, I only cried for like a minute.")
This week, I'm heading over to my sister's house to make sure my nephews don't feel left out too:
Cause, I can't let my sisters take over the favorite Aunt position...after all, they don't call me #1* for nothing :)
(*The #1 reference is not unabashed arrogance on my part, but rather the nickname my parents call me (ie, first of four daughters)...but I kinda like the ring of being #1.)

Ahhh, thanks for sharing the pics!!!! Your neices and nephews love Aunt Michelle, but hopefully, you have a battle for the #1 Aunt status!!!!
I think I can compete for #1 especially when I give chocolates!!
Michelle - you see them more than I get to so I think you are winning the #1 Aunt status hands-down!!!
So many beautiful children!!
Glad you are getting back to your auntly duties!
Look at all those blonde little girls!
