Back in the swing of things
Well, it seems that we're already back in the school routine (after just one week). He had no hesitation going to school and seems to be enjoying third grade. Brandon has also gotten back into the reading groove (thanks to a major push from Mom ;o) and he doesn't seem to have much problem with doing homework (although it's been VERY light so far.) Our Labor Day weekend was pretty low-key...we spent part of the weekend at the library getting a ton of books and videos. We also played several board games, played lots of tag, had a "movie night" at home and even saw Grandma and Papa (they came up on Monday to pick up extra drywall we had). The kids seem to be really interested in exercise right now (I think my routine of going to the gym has finally registered with them that exercise is important). One day this weekend, the kids took me downstairs so I could show them some weightlifting exercies (Brandon was so proud that he did 100 bicep curls with a 5 pound dumpbell). Granted he had to rest after every 20 reps and he couldn't hold the weight in his broken arm, but he was really enthusiastic and very proud he could do it.
