Sleeping husband

I SO did not intend to be posting anything today.

Why you ask? Well, this is THE day. The day that my husband returned home after 25 LONG days away.

25 days people. And I survived.

I survived whiny evenings with "bored" children. Refereed countless sibling arguments. Painted two bedrooms. Watched 4 long baseball games. And even managed to return the house to a semi state of clean before Mike returned (thanks to a marathon cleaning session last night).

It wasn't all bad...I did make a trip home for a weekend of the simple life. The kids and I enjoyed movie nights under a "fort" in the family room (which we upgraded to include the inflatable mattress). Cookouts with family and numerous playdates. I even managed to meet up with several Cleveland bloggers and a sweet new friend.

Somehow, I managed to survive.

But today I wanted, dare I say NEEDED, to see my husband.

Fortunately his 4 flights home were all on time (a miracle in and of itself.) I nearly jumped with joy when I got a text saying he'd just landed in Cleveland. And when he called saying he was in his car and driving home, it took all I could not to bolt out of the office right then and there to rush home to see him.

I saw Mike for about 30 minutes before he said he was going to go upstairs to take a little nap. He said to wake him when dinner was ready. Well, that was nearly 4 hours ago. Dinner came and went. And. He's. STILL. Sleeping. (curses to the dreaded 9.5 hour time difference)

So...I am left to my little laptop and the world that has helped me maintain my sanity while he's been away. Thanks blogosphere for getting me through it. Hopefully my husband will be awake...Tomorrow.

You painted while he was gone? Dang! Can you hear the applause? Congrats on surviving almost a month as a single parent! : )

Is he awake now? Cuz the 9.5 hour difference means he ... at this point in Delhi ... would be into his work day already. Perfect timing for YOU, my dear, to be in bed.

Sucky thing - that time difference!!

Glad he's home ... and glad you survived!

I can't believe you painted, too!

Enjoy your hubby this weekend. Hopefully, he wakes up soon!

So glad he made it back! It went quick (well maybe not for you). Hope he is caught up on sleep now that has got to be hard.

Yeah - I'm so happy your hubby made it home safe. That's great. And I love that you made forts with the kids and had a sleepover. We did that 2 nights ago and they just loved it.

I am so proud of you for handling the month-not that you ever want to do that again. I am hoping he woke up all refreshed and ready for whatever you needed him to do!
