Disney at Last!

We all began our journey to Disney on Saturday. Luckily there was no delays at the airport and the kids did great on the flight. Miss Monkey was a little apprehensive right before takeoff and made me put my arms around her. Once we were airborne, she was fine.

After arriving late to the condo on Saturday (we arrived around 10 pm), we were off for our first day at the Magic Kingdom. We spent a few hours there before moving on to Epcot for our first character meal...the storybook princess lunch. The girls met Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Jasmine and Ariel. Shari and I took tons of pictures, but we couldn't get Mr. B anywhere near the princesses. After lunch, we took advantage of Mike's GM affiliation and got escorted to the front of the line at the GM Test Track. This was a very cool ride, which had break tests, heat/cold tests and off course the test track with many fast curves. Everyone loved this ride, but Miss Monkey said she didn't really like the banking turns.

Mr. B, Mike and I spent the rest of the afternoon at Epcot, while Shari and Rich took Miss Monkey and their girls back to Magic Kingdom. After watching the parade, they went back to the condo for much needed naps ;o) After dinner, everyone returned to the Magic Kingdom for a few more rides and the fireworks display.

On day two, we went to the Animal Kingdom. This was actually a pretty cool park. Mike and Mr. B headed straight to Expedition Everest--a roller coaster through a "snowy" mountain. While they were waiting in line, I took Miss Monkey to Dinoland and rode the stegasaurous ride a couple times. After lunch, we took in a safari ride and the Kalahari Rapids water rider before driving to MGM Studios. Unfortunatley, by the time we arrived there in the afternoon, the two rides Mr. B wanted to ride (the Tower of Terror and the Aerosmith roller coaster) were very long waits. There really wasn't much else there in terms of rides, so we opted to spend the rest of the afternoon shopping at Downtown Disney. Mike's gift cards (we redeemed as part of his company bonus) really came in handy as the kids found lots of Disney memorabilia.

Today was our "day off" and we spent the morning at our second character meal with Alice in Wonderland, Tigger, Pooh, the Mad Hatter, and Mary Poppins. The kids eagerly met with each character. There were plenty of photos (we even convinced Mr. B to get his photo taken with the Mad Hatter and Pooh) and Miss Monkey got a few signatures as well. Then it was back to the condo for swimming and arcade visits. We decided to go back to Downtown Disney in the afternoon and spent the afternoon there with Rich and Shari.

Tomorrow we'll be headed back to Disney World for our last day at the park before coming home on Thursday. Mr. B and Mike have already made there plan of attack to make sure they get on all the rides they might have missed on earlier visits.

Here are some photos for our visit so far:
