But that's what I'm faced with as my dear friend, Pauline, (known to many as OHmommy) moves her family to her beloved hometown of Chicago at the end of the month.
I first "met" Pauline when she made a television appearance about blogging. I had just delved into blogging and I was fascinated to learn that someone was successfully blogging in the Cleveland area. Little did I know then, but we were separated by only mere miles and our online worlds would soon led us to meet and become friends in real life.
I could go on and on with adjectives that describe Pauline - vivacious, compassionate, funny, cultured, fashionable - but the one thing that sets her apart in my mind is her love and commitment to her friends and family.

Nothing is more important to her...and I love that about her.
In the years that I've known Pauline, I've marveled at the experiences she's created for her friends and family...
From family vacations in Paris and Costa Rica, to riverwading in the Metroparks...
From writing her first book to promoting it with her children...
From hosting Halloween par-tays and cooking classes to blogger GNO's
Emmy party manicures
Amelia, Pauline and me
But what I find most relatable is her joy (and sometimes struggles) in the everyday experiences of motherhood...
From cooking Polish cuisine to road trips with three young children...
From pride experienced at swim meets to the third child syndrome
From dealing with eye infections to preschooler boredom
Through all the "Classy Chaos" of her life, Pauline has been an inspiration for me, and so many other mothers.
Pauline, I'm honored to call you a friend. While it pains me to say Czesc (Polish for "bye), I'm grateful that that our online worlds will keep us connected...I think I'll most definitely be taking you up on your offer to come visit you in Chicago soon.
