Cards of thanks
While diligently working on my 40 x 40 Challenge I've discovered one "challenge" that has proven to be an unexpected blessing:
11. Mail 40 cards/letters to people who have meant something to me in my lifetime.
When I added this to my list (at the recommendation of my dear friend), I thought it would be a nice way to brighten the day of people I care for. And based on some of the comments I've received back, it definitely has:
-- Just went through mail & now I'm weeping. Thank you, my dear friend, for making my day. I love you!!!!!
-- Thanks you SO much for your card!! Really needed that! Ur an angel!!!
-- Thank you so much for the card. It touched our hearts!!!!! We love you sooooooooooooooooo much.
-- I just received the sweetest note - it's for sure frame-worthy.
-- Thank you so much for the card. I had a rough day yesterday and it truly hit the spot! Such a great thing you are doing. Lots of love!
But what I wasn't counting on was the blessing that it has been for me.
Have you ever sat down, and really tried to capture the essence of why you love someone? Or try to express what you value about a friendship...what you admire about a person...or why they mean so much to you?
In writing my cards of thanks, I've experienced joyful tears and a happy heart, as I focused on the love and appreciation I have for my friends and family. While expressions of appreciation are often overlooked in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it is SO important.
Writing these cards of thanks have been my most treasured accomplishment from my challenge. And one I encourage you to try in your own life.

I knew about 40x40 but didn't know about 40x40. I'm a big fan of the handwritten note and love this idea!
